10 Things You Thought Were Missing In Sage 50 Accounts… But Aren’t Really! – Part 2

May 24th, 2013

By Kevin McDonald, Graduate Product Manager at Sage

Before you read this post be sure to read part one. For part two I would like to tell you about some more useful Sage 50 Accounts features.

 6. “I need a way of making faster payments to my suppliers to help with my cash flow.”
In this case the customer was unaware of the free eBanking features which were available to them. In Sage 50 you can use the eBanking feature to make electronic BACS payments to your suppliers. This feature is free and the relevant banking plugins can be downloaded from My Sage.

7. “I have two companies setup in my Sage accounts. Why can’t I run management reports on both of them at once?”
You can. The multi company consolidation is available in Sage 50 Accounts Professional and will allow you to consolidate companies together so you will be able to run management reports such as the trail balance or balance sheet reports on your batch of companies.

8. “I have a new employee starting to use Sage 50 and I want to approve postings before they are allowed save journals to Sage 50.”
The Excel import feature can be used here i.e. the user can create the journals in Excel using the import templates that we provide with the program. The excel file can then be sent for approval and imported by the accounts administrator.

Sage Ireland Scoops Marketing Excellence Award

May 17th, 2013

17th May 2013: Sage Ireland last night scooped the Marketing Excellence Award at the ICT Excellence Awards. Now in its 13th year and billed as Ireland’s most prestigious technology industry awards, the ceremony was hosted by Matt Cooper at the Ballsbridge Hotel in Dublin.

The Marketing Excellence Award went to Sage for creating the most effective technology marketing campaign over a sustained period during 2012. A distinguished panel of judges, led by Forfas chairman Eoin O’Driscoll, selected the winners from a record entry to the awards.

According to the judges, “The stand-out marketing programmes from Sage Ireland were for Sage 50 and their Budget 2013 campaign. In their own words what has worked best for them is the integration between the old systems and the new digital methodologies where clever collaboration on campaigns mean the full spectrum of marketing is used to hit every possible audience, with every marketing dollar being actively measured also.”

Nice article Avril, I specially like this part "From the minute you start your business, you should have a customer loyalty programme in place". When you consider that it is 6 to 7 times more expensive to acquire a new customer rather than keeping an existing one, the focus should be on keethe existing customers first, and attract new ones second.
