Compu-Pay runs its business with Micropay from Sage:

  • Compu-pay Computer Payroll Service is a computer payroll bureau established over eight years ago. The company works closely with their clients to meet every possible requirement and takes care of all payroll needs by providing a professional and very thorough payroll service that is second to none. Compu-pay supplies all payroll reports necessary for audit and tax purposes, payslips and also electronic fund transfer which pays salaries directly into employees bank accounts anywhere in the country. The company guarantees that each clients’ payroll information is handled confidentially in a controlled environment.

Compu-pay’ clients include software companies, recruitment companies, hairdressers, schools and semi state bodies. The company uses Micropay from Sage Ireland to ensure that the payroll needs of its very wide client base are met on a timely and accurate basis and to the clients’ specification.

“With such a diverse range of companies we needed payroll software that was powerful, flexible, easy-to-use and would give us all the information and options needed to process complex payrolls”, explains Martin Coleman, Managing Director of Compu-pay. “We chose Sage Micropay because of its reputation in the marketplace and because it accommodates any combination of incomes, deductions, taxes, benefits and holidays plus it gives the user the option of creating user defined reports”.

Compu-pay’s first client was The American College and it has grown to 115 employees today. Employees include teachers, administration staff, cleaning staff, catering staff and staff to run their new University Residence for Foreign Students. The College has both salaried and hourly paid employees. Micropay allows for defined fixed and variable payment types such as salaries, hours, shift-premium and taxable or non-taxable payments. When new expenses need to be recorded, for example, an excursion – a pay element to cater for this can be set up in Micropay. Paid bank holidays are another area that the College has included as ‘Paid for Bank Holidays’ must
appear on employees payslips. For employees that work in different departments regularly, the Job Costing module in Micropay will allocate all costs associated with the employee across the departments according to the division of hours. The employee’s pay and all the other employer’s contributions such as PRSI and pension will be reflected in the Cost Analysis Report making it an extremely accurate and powerful report in Micropay..

Sage Micropay is a powerful, yet easy-to-use Windows-based payroll system designed and developed by the Sage Micropay team to address the needs of small-to-medium sized Irish companies with multi-company and unlimited-employee versions available.

“The beauty of Micropay is no matter what business you are looking after, Micropay is designed in such a way that it caters for all businesses”, continues Martin. “It doesn’t matter if the company pays hourly, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or whatever. Reports can be tailored such as a cost analysis report to suit the particular company”.

Micropay has a very good export facility into Microsoft Excel speadsheets which allows us to comply with all our customer’s requirements as we can bring a report into Excel and complete it there.

“Micropay is an excellent product with great customer support which is vital in running any business”, concludes Martin
