How do I download the Application to my iPhone?
The iPhone application must be installed via the App Store. Please click here to visit the App Store and install (iTunes is required). Click here for more information on the iPhone application.

How do I download the Application to my BlackBerry?
There are two ways to download the BlackBerry application. It can be downloaded to you PC and installed via Blackberry Desktop Manager or installed directly onto your BlackBerry. Please click here to download the app and for more information.

I can’t log in to the Application – what should I do?
Check that you are using the right username and password. Ensure that the computer running Sage 50 Accounts in your office is switched on and connected to the internet. If you have just been added as a Mobile user, try again after 15 minutes – it can take a short while for your subscription to be created.

Why can’t I find a customer/supplier?
When searching for a customer or supplier, the way that the search works depends on the number of letters you type.

One letter – Sage 50 Mobile will perform a ‘starts with’ search, so enter ‘A’ to find any customers whose account name starts with the letter ‘A’.

More than one letter – Sage 50 Mobile will perform a ‘contains’ search, so enter “Des” to find any customers whose account name contains these letters, for example a customer with the word ‘Design’ in their account name.

Sage 50 Mobile can help you to find customers or suppliers using different ‘criteria’, so for example you can search on customer account name, postcode or account reference. On the iPhone, select "Search by" in the top right hand corner of the search screen to change the criteria. On the BlackBerry select the criteria you wish to search on in the "Search by" section on the search screen.

Why can’t I see all products/services when I’m creating a new quotation, invoice or sales order?
By default you just see items that you’ve recently sold to the current customer. To find more products and services on BlackBerry highlight the product name and press the menu button to search for more products. On iPhone enter search criteria into the search box at the top of the screen and press search to find more products or services.

How do I add a Customer or Supplier to the device address book?
Within a customer of supplier record, select Add to Address Book to add the record to the device’s Contacts.

How do I call a number?
To call a telephone number on BlackBerry, move the cursor to the same line as the number, press the Menu button or trackwheel, and select Call. On iPhone select the blue arrow next to the telephone number and select Yes when prompted.

How do I view a website?
To view a website on BlackBerry, move the cursor to the same line as the website URL, click the Menu button or trackwheel, and select Get Link. On iPhone select the blue arrow next to the website address and select Yes when prompted.

How do I send an email?
To send an email on BlackBerry, move the cursor to the same line as the email address, click the Menu button or trackwheel, and select Email. On iPhone select the blue arrow next to the email address and select Yes when prompted.

How do I remove all Sage 50 Mobile data from my device?
On BlackBerry open the options application (usually represented by a spanner symbol) and select Sage Mobile to open up the Sage Mobile options. Select the checkbox next to "Clear Cached Information on Save" and press the back key to exit. When prompted select "Save" to clear all cached data.

To clear cached data on iPhone open up the Settings app and select Sage 50. Ensure that "Sign out on exit" is set to on. The cached will be cleared next time you log out of the Sage 50 application.

How do I remove favourites from by BlackBerry application?
A favourite can be removed by selecting the favourite in the main menu, pressing the menu button and selecting "Remove from Favourites". All favourites can be removed by clearing the application cache.

Why can’t I see a full list of results?
The maximum number of results that can be displayed is 50. If you are receiving less than this, the lookup limit may have been been changed. To change lookup limits on BlackBerry, you must exit Sage Mobile and open up the options application (usually represented by a spanner symbol). Within here select Sage Mobile and change Max Results to display.

To change looking limits on iPhone open up the Settings app and select Sage 50. Select "Search Limit" and then select a value.

Why can’t I access Sage 50 Mobile when my computer goes into sleep mode?
When your computer enters sleep mode it is not possible for any software to run on the machine. This means that Sage 50 Mobile will not work. In order to ensure that Sage 50 Mobile is working all of the time, ensure that sleep mode is switched off.

How do I log out of Sage 50 Mobile? On BlackBerry from the main menu select the Escape key on your BlackBerry smartphone and then select Yes when prompted. On iPhone select "Logout" in the top right hand corner when viewing the main menu screens.

How do I change my password? Click here to visit the Sage Passport site where you can reset your password.

I’ve ena, why can’t I log in?
When adding a new When enabling mobile access it can take 15 minutes for access to be enabled on the mobile device.

I’ve added a new user, why can’t they log in?
When adding a new user it can take 15 minutes for the new user to be able to log in to Sage 50 Mobile.

How do I remove Sage 50 Mobile from my device?
The Sage 50 Mobile application can be removed from BlackBerry using the Blackberry Desktop Manager. Alternatively it can be removed by select the options application on your Blackberry device (usually represented by a spanner symbol) and selecting Advanced Options, and then Applications. Select Sage Mobile, press the Menu button and then select Delete.

On iPhone the application can be removed by pressing the icon for more than two seconds, this will cause all iPhone icons to vibrate. Selecting the black cross in the top left of the application icon will cause the app to be deleted.

How to I change Sage Mobile settings?
Sage Mobile settings on BlackBerry can be changed using the Options application on your Blackberry device (usually represented by a spanner symbol). Within Options, select Sage Mobile. To change settings on iPhone open up the Settings app and select Sage 50.

What does Max Results to display mean?
The Max Results are the maximum number of results that are returned when doing a lookup or view.

What does % of Cache to use mean?
The Cache percentage is the maximum percentage of device memory that Sage Mobile will use to store cached data. This is used on BlackBerry only.

What does Polling Frequency (seconds) Mean?
Whilst running, Sage Mobile does a periodic connection check to make sure you can connect to your accounts data. The polling frequency specifies how often this check occurs. This is used on BlackBerry only.

How do I change my BlackBerry connection type?
Open the options application (usually represented by a spanner symbol) and select Sage Mobile to open up the Sage Mobile options. The application automatically picks the best connection type for your device, so it should not be necessary to change this setting. However if you have a preference for the connection type to use set "Use default Connection" to "No" and select the connection type you wish to use.

What does (*) and (p) mean on Customer and Supplier activities?
The (*) character signifies that the activity has the full amount outstanding, while (p) signifies that part of the amount is outstanding.

How will invoices be saved in Sage 50 Accounts?
Invoices will only be saved and not posted to customer accounts.

Will restoring a Sage 50 Account dataset backup affect Sage 50 Mobile?
Restoring a backup that was made before mobile access was configured may affect mobile access and result in users having to be reconfigured. Restoring a backup made after mobile access has been configured will not affect mobile access. For this reason it is recommended that a backup be taken after mobile access is configured.

What currency should I use when foreign trader is enabled?
When foreign trader is enabled entry of invoices, sales orders and quotations should be in the customers currency.

What does the coloured circles signify?
The coloured circles can be found in the top right of the BlackBerry screen and in the App Info section on iPhone. They are a connectivity indicator that lets you know whether you are connected to your accounts data.

Sage 50 Accounts Mobile Service

What is a Mobile Administrator?
The “Mobile Administrator” is the person who set up your copy of Sage 50 Accounts for mobile access. This person is responsible for managing who can access your Sage 50 Accounts data, and whether they can see certain information such as bank account numbers. The Mobile Administrator uses the Sage 50 Mobile Setup Wizard to manage access from iPhone and BlackBerry devices.

What is a Sage Passport?
A Sage Passport is a user account with Sage. Sage Passports are free to all Sage users – all you need is a valid email address. Sage Passports accounts are created automatically when Mobile Administrators add mobile users to your Sage 50 Accounts application.

You should have received an email inviting you to set a password for your new Sage Passport account when your Mobile Administrator set up your account. Your email address is not used for marketing purposes, nor will it be sold or passed on to any third-party.

How do I restrict access to data?
Access to company information can be restricted from within Sage 50 Accounts. The following instructions will need to be carried out on Sage 50 Accounts in your office.

1. Launch Sage 50 Accounts.
2. Select Tools in the menu bar.
3. Select Internet Options.
4. Click on the Mobile tab.
5. Click on the Setup Sage 50 Mobile button.
6. Login using your Sage Passport.
7. Click Next, then check which Group the Mobile User belongs to.
8. Click on the Groups tab.
9. Select the Group in question and click the Edit button.
10. Make changes by setting or clearing the tick boxes.
11. Click Finish – your changes will be saved, and the connection tested.

How can I stop Bank Account Numbers being displayed?
Follow the instructions above, then ensure that the checkbox next to Account Number is cleared for any Group you do not wish to have access to the Bank Account Numbers information. The Account Number check box can be found under Finance, Bank Accounts.

How can I stop Last Cost Prices being displayed?
Follow the instructions above, then ensure that the checkbox next to Last Cost Price is cleared for any Group you do not wish to have access to the Last Cost Price information. The Last Cost Price check box can be found under My Company, Products.

How do I allow other people to access my data?
Access to company information can be granted from within Sage 50 Accounts. The following instructions will need to be carried out on Sage 50 Accounts in your office.

1. Launch Sage 50 Accounts.
2. Select Tools in the menu bar.
3. Select Internet Options.
4. Click on the Mobile tab.
5. Click on the Setup Sage 50 Mobile button.
6. Login using your Sage Passport.
7. Click Next, then click Add New...
8. Enter the new user’s details.
9. Click Next, then click Finish – your changes will be saved, and the connection tested.

When you have completed these steps, an email will be sent automatically to the new user explaining how to download a setup the Sage 50 Accounts Mobile Application on their iPhone or Blackberry.

Note – if the user will be creating Invoices, Orders or Quotations you should set up a separate Sage 50 Accounts login account for this user. If they only need to read information on their Mobile device, then you can use the “MANAGER” account or a shared read-only account. For help with creating new Sage 50 Accounts login accounts, search for ‘Create User’ in the Sage 50 Accounts online help system.

How do I prevent people from accessing my data?
Only people who have been added to the list of Mobile Users on your Sage 50 Accounts will be able to access your company data. To remove someone from the list of Mobile Users, complete the following steps:

1. Launch Sage 50 Accounts.
2. Select Tools in the menu bar.
3. Select Internet Options.
4. Click on the Mobile tab.
5. Click on the Setup Sage 50 Mobile button.
6. Login using your Sage Passport.
7. Click Next.
8. Highlight the user you want to remove, then click Delete.
9. Confirm that you want to remove the user.
10. Click Finish – your changes will be saved, and the connection tested.

How do I switch off Sage 50 Mobile?
You can permanently switch off Sage 50 Mobile from within Sage 50 Accounts. The following instructions will need to be carried out on Sage 50 Accounts in your office.

1. Launch Sage 50 Accounts.
2. Select Tools in the menu bar.
3. Select Internet Options.
4. Click on the Mobile tab.
5. Click on the Setup Sage 50 Mobile button.
6. Login using your Sage Passport.
7. Click Next.
8. Click the Turn off mobile access button.
9. Confirm that you want to switch off Sage 50 Mobile.
10. Click Finish.

Why do I have a new user on my computer after installing Sage 50 Mobile?
When you are installing Sage 50 Mobile, a new user is created on your computer. This user is used to run the Sage Mobile software. The password is randomly generated and is different for each Sage 50 Mobile installation, so it is not possible to log into the machine using this user.

What currency does Sage 50 Mobile use?
Sage 50 Mobile uses the base currency as set in Sage 50 Accounts. However, if foreign currency is enabled then the currency for the individual customer or supplier is displayed.

Why is settlement discount affecting my VAT?
Sage 50 Mobile uses the system account in windows to identify the system locale. This must be set to Irish to ensure that settlement discount is not used.

On machines running Vista and Windows 7 this can be changed by selecting "Administrative" and then "Copy to reserved accounts" within "Regional and Language Options" in the control panel. On other versions of Windows this can be set by selecting "Advanced" and then "Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default user profile" within "Regional and Language Options" in the control panel.
