The Challenge: Handing Increased Volumes
A Sage accounting and management software solution user since
the company’s inception, ever-increasing growth in transaction
volumes spurred Xpert Digi Taxis to search for an accounting and
management software solution with even greater capabilities.
“The company has been using Sage 50 Accounting since the very
beginning,” Alan explains. “For years, Sage 50 had formed the
foundation for our accounting and billing systems. However,
transactions were topping 200,000 per annum, and we realised that
we required a solution with an even more robust database capability
to power growth even further.”
Alan approached leading Sage Business Partner FDS Technology,
providing forecasts of anticipated growth. Having analysed
the company’s requirements, FDS Technology recommended an
appropriate Sage solution.
The Solution: Sage 200
Sage 200 is Ireland’s favourite mid-market accounting and
management reporting software solution. Powered by robust SQL
database technology, Sage 200’s future-proof capabilities grow as a

“When FDS Technology recom-mended Sage 200, we took a close look
at its powerful database system,” Alan says. “Because the database
is SQL-based, we recognised that it offered a robustness and
flexibility that could easily handle existing – and future –
transaction requirements. For that reason alone, we decided to move
ahead with FDS Technology’s recommendation, and Sage 200.”

Since rolling out Sage 200 in May 2009, Alan has been delighted
with the results.
“The benefits of Sage 200 and our partnership with FDS Technology
have been apparent,” Alan states. “Sage 200’s SQL database design
provides a robust platform that easily handles the hundreds of
thousands of transactions that we expedite each year.
Invoicing to corporate customers is particularly straightforward:
each week, we run invoices. Those are emailed directly to our
customers for payment. This capability increases our back office
productivity, while reducing costs and increasing customer
goodwill.
“Sage 200 is also easy to use. In that our finance team had used
Sage 50, we were already familiar with Sage navigation techniques.
Therefore, the tran-sition to Sage 200 was quick and painless.”
FDS Technologies also made the upgrade to Sage 200 easy and
straightforward. “FDS migrated existing data from Sage 50 to our
new Sage solution, and tested it prior to implementation,” Alan
explains. “They partnered with us to ensure that we received the
most from our new Sage 200 package.”
Additionally, Xpert Digi Taxis relies on the comprehensive
management reporting capa-bilities of Sage 200. “This solution
comes with an excellent suite of standard reports,” Alan states.
“Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, transaction volumes, and similar
data are available instantly. Our management team uses Sage 200
every day, and we find that data to be invaluable in helping us to
guide the company to further growth.”
