About the Organisation of Working Time Act
The Organisation of Working Time Act sets out statutory rights
for employees in respect of rest, maximum working time and
holidays. Under this Act, employers have a responsibility to keep a
record of hours of work for each employee (including starting and
finishing times, meal breaks and rest periods).
The National Employment Rights Authority, NERA, would request
such records when inspecting a business.
More information on the working hours requirements here.
They would also request other records to be made available for
inspection. To find out more, please visit
National Employment Rights Authority.
